This article explains what the requirements are for running a Founder’s Node.
A Founder’s Node requires resources in order to run the software properly. Knowing the hardware requirements needed to run a Founder’s Node is important to make sure it can provide resources to the Gala Games Ecosystem and to ensure the node operator is able to get credit in the Distribution.
This article assumes the reader understands the information in the following articles:

A Founder’s Node is currently extremely light weight, and does not "mine" in the traditional sense. A Founder's Node secures the game blockchain that Gala Games uses for games at the moment. An owner accumulates 1 point per node for running them for 6+ hours each day. No crypto mining, in the traditional sense, is involved. An owner is rewarded GALA based on the number of points an owner receives. Please check out the article What is a Distribution? to learn more.
A Founder’s Node supports Windows, Mac, and Linux (64-bit required). These are the current resources required for running a Founder's Node:
4 GB RAM
2 CPU Cores
60 GB Disk Space
These requirements are subject to change. There may be additional requirements in terms of computational capacity and speed placed on nodes in the future. Lighter nodes will likely still function, but they will be given rewards in proportion to their contribution to the network. More information will be released on this when it is available.
The download for the Founder’s Node on Windows and Mac can be found under the Node Info page account page on the Gala website here: Gala Games
