This article explains what an ICO(Initial Coin Offering) is, and why Gala Games decided an ICO wouldn’t be a good fit for the project.
An ICO can provide an unfair advantage to investors because there’s often a high barrier to entry. Gala Games decided against this, and this article explains the reasons why an ICO is not always the best way for a project to get startup capital.
This article assumes the reader knows:
GALA has never been available for purchase directly from Gala Games and no initial coin offering (ICO) was ever held to support Gala Games or the Gala Games ecosystem. GALA is earned daily by anyone who qualifies for a token. This can be through running Founder’s Nodes, by referring users to purchase Founder’s Nodes and by referring people to play games on the Gala Games platform. The qualifications are designed to promote supporting the network, playing the games, and sharing the games on the network. This also allows the public, rather than a centralized team, to decide the price of the token.
